Orson Welles History Came out of Radio - " War of the Worlds " Broadcast   Was offered a contract despite never having directed film before  Had a very rocky career from Citizen Kane to the 1986 Transformers Style Rejected the CHC Studio Conventions  Deep focus and long shots  Highly expressionistic lighting  Characterisation through the camera  Relies heavily on camera movement  Utilises his background in sound design  Filmography Citizen Kane (1941) The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) The Lady from Shangai (1947)  Touch of Evil (1958) Chimes at Midnight (1965)
